F-35 LIGHTNING II PROGRAM
AEREA is one of the first Italian SMEs involved in the F-35 program, and among the first having begun industrial collaboration relationships with main U.S. OEMs.
DESCRIPTION
Since the early 2000s, AEREA’s engineers were relocated to Lockheed Martin in Dallas Fort Worth supporting the design of missile launchers, which are today in service on F-35s worldwide. These missile launchers are since then produced in our Turate factory after having been qualified in our testing facilities in terms of ground test, static, and fatigue life.
AEREA’s compliance with the Program’s “Best Value” approach allowed us to be awarded several BTP/S (Build to Print Specification) production opportunities for a wide range of aircraft and engine components, together with a number of ground support mechanical equipment.
Solidity of industrial relations built over the years and the geographical proximity to the Italian FACO, along with aspiration to constantly progress in engineering and technologies, have supported AEREA’s commitment to be a consistent resource for the F-35 Program for years to come.
